Prairie Pro Outfitters is the exclusive owner of the angling guiding rights for Rafferty Reservoir Saskatchewan. We are the first and only angling outfitter with an angling academy. On the water instruction is offered for beginning to experienced anglers of any age. Open year round to accommodate daily and multi day excursions on open water or ice-fishing.

DRIVE TO DESTINATION only 10 minute drive from USA/Canadian border with a 24 hour customs at Portal, North Dakota. Daily Guided Fishing
We offer daily guided fishing in our tournament equipped Nitro 2021 and Ranger 621 boats both 21 foot with 300 HP Mercury 4 stroke engine. Top of the line St. Croix rods with Shimano reels, newest electronics and tackle. Also available is a 23 ft Tritoon with a 150 HP Evinrude E Tec for large groups and people having physical limitations. Our rates are by the hour because sometimes weather can dictate our excursion times.
Fishing Academy
Also available is our fishing academy. This is set up to teach individuals or small groups a variety of skills associated with angling. For example, fish filleting, boat handling, electronics, safety, different fish species angling techniques, tackle and gear, knot tying, also successful shore fishing methods, plus other very useful skills for successful fishing.
Learn skills that are necessary to successfully fly fish. From casting lines to lure selection. Our instructor has 60 plus years of avid fly fishing for multiple species including pike, trout salmon, bass and saltwater species including bonefish Come learn how easy fly fishing can be!
Rafferty Reservoir
Rafferty Reservoir is a dam project on the Souris River that was built to help eliminate flooding of the Souris River. Completed in 1991 it floods 11 860 acres and is roughly 35 meters in depth at the deepest. This 35 mile long and ¾ mile wide reservoir is located between the cities of Weyburn and Estevan Saskatchewan and is home to a fantastic population of walleye, pike and perch of all sizes including trophy sized fish of all three species.
Meet Your Guide - Ralph Smart
Prairie Pro Outfitters is owned and operated by Ralph Smart of Estevan, Saskatchewan. Ralph is a 15 year resident of Estevan and has fished Rafferty Reservoir since its beginning both recreational and in walleye tournaments.
Ralph fishes competitively in the Saskatchewan Walley Trial and the Central Walley Trail with first place finished and multiple top 10 finishes. He also participates in the Manitoba Master Angler Awards attaining and silver award for 10 plus species meeting the length requirements. He also has volunteered for 10 years at the Estevan Youth Wildlife Camp with fishing instruction taking place on the water in his Tritoon boat. Ralph’s son Nate who is in his 20’s with years of operating his own boat runs the other guides boat and helps with instruction.
Ralph is also an experienced Taxidermist and can replicate your memorable catch through superb quality fish reproductions he paints himself from photos of your catch. *This service is offered to clients and non-clients. *See below images of a 44 inch Pike
